What is inside the neck?

The neck takes the top cease of the spinal column or spine, which abides the brain and as well protects the medulla spinalis. The medulla spinalis is the chief nerve which runs from the head, by the neck and down the back, and associates with nerves to the remainder of the body. This is shown up in picture 1.

The spine is assembled of 33 bones called vertebrae  built one on top of another to form a column. The seven bones in the neck are called cervical vertebrae. Between the bones are discs of gristle (cartilage) called intervertebral disk*. The sides of the bones are associated by aspect joints. A lot ligaments and muscles are accompanied the spine and diffuse from the neck to the scapulae and back. The musclemen control movements of your brain. The backbone protects the medulla spinalis from outside harm while still allowing you to move your head in any direction.

At the level of each disc, nerve roots broaden from the spinal cord (see Figure 1), passing across an opening in the side of the spine. The nerve roots in the neck join to form the nerve trunks that bump into the arms. Impetuses travel along these nerves, sending sensations such as touch and painfulness to the head and messages from the head to the muscles.

The arteria vertebralis carries blood from the heart to the head. It runs inside the bones of the spine and supplies the part of the head that commands your balance.
